1. Date  Saturday 25th March 2017 

2. Race Route

2.1 Start Point from Gurney Drive (Beach Front behind 8 Gurney Condo) 2.2 End Point at Pantai Bersih, Mainland Butterworth (Lobster Seafood  Restaurant) 

2.3 Estimated Distance: 6.5km 

3. Race Categories

3.1 FULL Cross Channel Swim (approx. 6.5 km)

3.1.1 Men 40 & below (born 1976 & after)

3.1.2 Women 40 & below (born 1976 & after)

3.1.3 Men 41 & above (born 1975 & before)

3.1.4 Women 41 & above (born 1975 & before) 

4.0 Entry Fees

4.1 Local Malaysian participants at RM 190.00 (Ringgit Malaysia One Hundred & Ninety) per swimmer

4.2 Foreign participants at USD$ 90.00 (US Dollars Ninety) per swimmer

4.3 Payable by Cash / Money Order / Cheque to Penang Amateur Swimming Association or direct credit to MAYBANK account#  507-237-134-378

5.0 Entries & Registrations  5.1 Entry forms can be collected and submitted at the following: 

OLYMPIC Sports & Fitness Sdn Bhd  Ground Floor, Dewan Badminton PBA,  Bukit Dumbar, 11600 Jelutong, PENANG 

OR  Online: (online payment) 

5.2 All entries must be submitted together with the relevant entry  fees and documents.

5.3 Entry & Registration closing date is 12 noon 1st March 2017.

5.4 There will be no refunds for entry fees paid for any withdrawals for  whatsoever reason/s.

5.5 Each registered swimmer will receive a Race Pack comprising  

* Safe swimmer float x1  
* Swim Cap x1  
* Tshirt x1  

5.6 Swimmers who complete the Full Channel swim will receive a Finishers Medal + Certificate

5.7 The top 10 finishers in each category Men & Women will receive  a trophy each. 

6.0 Swim Rules  

6.1 Swimmers will be marked on the arms during registration prior to the race. Please ensure your race number is clearly visible.  

6.2 Swimmers must wear the race swim caps provided by the Organizer.

6.3 Swimmers may swim in any style throughout the race.

6.4 Goggles and the safe swimmer float may be used. Any other aids  are not allowed.

6.5 Proper swim attire must be worn. Two piece suits are not allowed.

6.6 Support crews are not allowed. Any assistance received during the swim will result in immediate disqualification (with the exception of  medical aid).

6.7 Other than to receive medical aid, swimmers are not to come into contact with any safety boat, kayaks.

6.8 Swimmers in difficulty shall signal the safety boat / kayak for assistance.  

6.9 Cut off time for the race is 4 hours. Any swimmer still in the water  at 11.00am will be asked to stop and taken on board the safety boat. 

7.0 General Rules

7.1 All swimmers must abide by the rules & regulations of the race / event.

7.2  In the event of inclement weather or unfavorable sea conditions, the Organizer reserves the right to delay the commencement of the race  or postpone the race in the interest of safety. 

7.3 Any dispute or protest against another swimmer or any violation in the race shall be made in writing to the Organizer within 30 minutes of his/her finish time. A fee of RM 100.00 must be accompanied with the appropriate protest form. The fee will not be refunded if the protest is over ruled.

7.4 The Organizer reserves the right to use any photographs or recordings of the swimmers / participants for any commercial, advertising or promotional purposes without prior notice.

7.5 It is the responsibility of each individual swimmer / participant to ensure that they are physically and medically fit to swim in this race.

7.6 The Race Director / Organizer / Race officials reserves the right to remove any swimmer / participant from participation if the swimmer is deemed to be physically unfit / incapable of continuing the race.

7.7  All swimmers must complete and sign the indemnity form and attach a copy of his/her NRIC/Passport.

7.8 Swimmers below the age of 18 must obtain parental/guardian consent with a copy of the latter’s NRIC/Passport.

7.9 The Organizer will not be held responsible / liable for any accidents, damages or loss to personal properties.

7.10 The Organizer will not be held responsible / liable for any expenses incurred in the event of any cancellation / postponement of this race / event due to weather conditions or situations outside the control of the Organizers.

7.11 The Race Director / Organizer’s decisions is final in all matters pertaining to the race / event.
